Miata thermoswitch help

Could someone give me a hand? I am trying to replace my thermoswitch with a miata one and I would like to know what parts need to come off in order to get to the switch. Also, can I use the thermoswitch from any model year miata or only the most recent? Thanks for your help. Any pics/guides would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matthew Walsh

You'll need to loosen your airpump so you can remove the alternator. I would go ahead and remove the crossover IC pipe and the pressure tank. That should give you the room you need.

The wires are usually brittle so don't be surprised if they snap.

As for the part number: N350-18-840

Thanks Majik,

I am actually replacing the thermostat at the same time. So I will have already removed the air pump. I know that this is going to sound retarded but, where exactly is the thermoswitch? I figured that it must be located somewhat close to the thermostat.

Thanks,

The thermoswitch is on the firewall side of the housing. There are two sensors on that side and it's the lower one of the two.
