meter hood out, now what?

Ok guys I cracked the **** out of my meter hood so I got a new one a fancy new chrome bezel. Is there anything I should be turnung my attention to since it's out right now? I don't want to have to remove it again!

Ok, you've removed your instrument cluster/ meter hood assembly from the dash - correct ? If this is correct, when installing the new one put a little lithium grease on the slide springs that retain the whole assembly in place. You will see them on the back of the unit and the slots in the dash. Adding a little grease to these points will greatly add the removal in the future - if you need to. Believe me, you will appreciate how easily it comes back out. Nothing breaks

jmeyer, You can still get them from Ray Crowe and Malloy Mazda.
