Metal piece in diff oil?

Was changing Oil in my diff yesterday and this came out with the Oil. What is it and how bad is it that it's broken?Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Gonna need some more pictures. Possibly a rolled up piece of a bearing, but the bearings are typically WAY thicker than that.

Is the diff making any noises?

Cant remeber that it was making any noise last time I drowe it. It seems to be a locking pin but where could it be from?

Hmm going to get the Car to a propper lift and Take the cover off when I get it up and runing. No way that I am going to crawl under the Car to remove the diff cover lol. Hoppfully I can just replace the lockpin.

Looks like it's part of a needle bearing. Just put new fluid in and run it. Rebuild it if you want but it can likely go a while before it needs rebuilt.
