Metal Expansion Tanks?

Well, I think that is what this is called. It's the plastic bottle thing you pour coolant into. Well mine broke and its gunna cost ~100 bucks to replace it with a stock one. Just wondering if there is anyone that makes one that is metal or if anyone on here has made one. Also I searched and someone said something about getting one from summit but I went to their site and didn't find one. Thanks for the help.

You can get aluminum overflow tanks nearly anywhere. I ditched the stock plastic one and put an aluminum one on the driverside of the engine bay.. Works fine.

breakage is rare. 'filled' on dipstick is about 1/2 way up tank when cold, hot about 3/4.

most leaks at tank top due to overfilling, or leaking main o-rings.

I did use a smaller, customized 1Q pegasus plastic tank. This was part of my cold air intake, using right duct, and flowing by headlight motor as shown in that link pic.

ideal would be to eliminate both ast and exp tank, as someone did with a volvo s70 (or maybe vw)combination plastic tank that does both functions, mounted high. This is what most new cars use, and the rx8.
