Angry fucked up the taillight smoke cover

hey every1,

i was doing my DIY 99spec taillight conversion 2night, and i was reassembling them, xcept my oven @ 260 degrees caused the top cover to cave in since i left it on the rack... anyone know if i can "pop it back out" or where the quickest place to get one would be?

ah **** that sucks Zack.

Usually you can't, regardless it probably not going to look too hott if you could get it close. That's why you're not really supposed to put them in the oven! Heat gun, Heat gun, Heat gun.

I learned the oven lesson doing the headlights on my 3000GT. I melted a hole in the rear casing.

I think your tail light "frittata" is overcooked for good.

Malloy is the place for new parts at the best price: 1-888-533-3400. Ray is THE man to talk to.

Next time, check that oven temp with another known accurate thermometer first! (That's the professional advice of my wife, a Personal Chef to the rich and famous and FD3S owners)

Bon appetitties!

you could have used hair dryer. It's much easier than oven, and there is no chance of messing it up.

they do cost an arm and a leg. i wanted to order the red lens inside once and it was $60 or something. anyways you can probably get the cover looking decent by heating the sagged areas with a heat gun and pushing them out. get it as even as possible with the rest and then sand the whole thing down until its real even. start with 220 grit and work through 320 600 and 1200 then polish.
