Mazdaspeed bumper install help!
I recently bought a mazdaspeed gtc bumper off a forum member who said it was from rx7store. On rx7store it sayd the stock rebar can be used with the bumper and you dont need to remove it. I cant really get it all the way on with the rebar because the turn signal cutout in the bumper hits the rebar. I was wondering if anyone did this install and can let me know if they kept the rebar or removed it.

I didn't do the install with the GTC bumper, however I do have a fiberglass bumper on my car. You don't "need" the rebar under the bumper as far as for being useful part to aide in sagging(fiberglass doesn't sag like OEM) so you may want to make things easier and remove it.
An idea that I've seen done before though by people who want to keep the stock old rebar and use a 99 spec lights style bumper is cutting the ends of the rebar off where the turn signals go so theres no interference. Just an idea.

You have to modify the rebar on any front bumper that has the 99 combo lights. I would definitely keep the rebar there though in case you want to keep the frame intact if anything ever hit the front of the car.
