Mazda recall Number

I seem to remember some had a number you could call to deterimine if the factory recalls have been performed on a specific RX7 just by entering your VIN? Does anyone have this number by chance?

Probably the dealer or Mazda customer service.

At one point, you could register your car on Mazda's web site and it would give you the recall status.

Oh, also, if you do have an outstanding recall, the only one I'd have Mazda do is the brake vacuum line recall - it's so simple to do it's stupid.

If it's the fan recall or the fuel hose recall, don't let the dealer touch your car. First off, read my fan control stuff on the fan recall, I tear that crap out of every FD I work on. The fuel hose recall is worthwhile, but you have to take the engine WAY apart to do it, and I wouldn't trust Mazda to do it.

Don't let a dealer touch your car - you will spend money and they won't fix anything, possibly causing more problems.

Been there, done that, didn't even get a t-shirt.

I guess I got lucky. My dealer just did the fuel line recall on the FD I bought. They wound up diagnosing and replacing two bad solenoids and a whole bunch of clogged vacuum lines.

It took them five days, but total cost out the door...$0.00.
