Mazda Parts MSRP Source

Is there any full definitive source containing current MSRP for Mazda parts? I'm getting tired of getting absolutely outrageous parts quotes from local dealers. For example, according to

http://www.trademotion.com/shoppingc...&siteid=214047

the MSRP for a FD air filter is $34.75 (and they will sell it for $27.80), but a local dealer quoted me $47 and told me that that was the correct MSRP.

I usually buy stuff from Ray Crow at Malloy, but when I want a random small part, a local dealer makes sense - or it would if they did not charge up to 2x MSRP. However, I have no comeback when they ask for over MSRP because I cannot find a source for current pricing.

I've tried many local Mazda dealers and they all try to take a stab at you with pricing. I have found that Ray Crowe can usually cut his prices in half when compared to dealer prices.

Why is it they charge the same price for the plenum as they do for the gasket?

Look up the part numbers using the PDF parts list, then type the PN in directly. Surfing through the browser you'll find errors and only a small portion of the parts.

FWIW, I did a couple price comparisons and I think both they and Malloy work off the same prices, but Malloy has a slightly better discount.

If you're not a Mazda Motorsports member just call Ray at Malloy Mazda. He obviously prides himself on both his prices and his service. No need to look further than that IMO.

I already said that I typically use Ray - but there are occasions that I want a small part in the middle of a job and would like to get it locally. Without a definitive source for current MSRP I cannot argue with them when they quote me an outrageous price.

I have never had this happen with dealers for other manufacturers. Even Bay Area BMW dealers do not charge over MSRP for parts (though they do try to ream you every other way they can).

WTF?!

Front Outer Defroster Grille 50-791 FD01-50-790A 1 $224.52

Surely, this isn't talking about the one on top of the dash?

OUTER. The one under the wipers. The inner grilles are like $30 each.

So if you need to get it locally you're stuck with local choices. The parts counter doesn't "bargain" so what difference does it make if you think they want too much?

A long time ago, I bought some turbo manifold studs from a local dealer. They accidentally gave me the wrong copy of the sales draft and I could see what they paid, and what I paid for the studs.

They marked them up about 400%.

Parts counters do bargain - however, the best I could do in the past was 2x MSRP to 1.5X MSRP. If I had a printed list of MSRP I would have a lot more leverage. They often claim with a straight face that 1.5X MSRP is MSRP and I have no way to counter that.
