Maybe a dumb question, why did I spin out in the rain?!

Flowers for me....you shouldn't have lol
I have drag radials for the street so I can get traction and sometimes I get stuck in the rain on the highway when I go home for the weekend. I suppose flooring it isn't too bright but honestly these cars are SOLID and I know when to stop! If I floored my mustang like that at 80 in the rain yea I could see crashing
I really don't see what the problem is with everyone driving in the rain. Maybe I'm super conservative and I just don't know. I think dry conditions are more dangerous because you try to take turns real fast and don't think about sand or oil that could be on the ground.

I don't see you stopping very well in "heavy rain" with drag radials. Not happening. Maybe when you cross into the other lanes of traffic and hit someone head on. Hope you wrap yourself around a guard rail before you take out a family.

I have two suggestions:
1. check alignment, go ahead and get a 4 wheel alignment with the car up on a rack.
2. Check the wear of your suspension bushings, differential bushings as well.

Tires will make the biggest differenence with your problem of spinning out. How the tread pattern is designed will definitely help you move water out of your tire's contact patch and help you keep control under not so good conditions. Good tires will definitely hide your driving skills if you're not that good. Again, keep off the throttle or just apply it gently, don't smash it.
Good luck and don't make a thread saying that you trashed your RX-7 on this site! :0)
You will be so flamed!!!

With good tires, driving in the rain isn't a problem.

However, if you notice that one side of the car seems to be pulling loose then check your suspension and get an alignment. If you feel it has something to do with your driving ability go to an empty parking lot and learn your car a little better. These cars do have acceptional handling capabilities.
Additionally there are other actions you can take to increase traction and control (ex. suspension modifications, wider rims/tires, etc.)
