MAP sensor question

When I was pulling my engine, I dont recall my MAP sensor vacuum line having a fuel filter between the sensor and the throttle body. When I was putting things back together, I was looking on the vacuum diagram, and it says theres supposed to be fuel filter in there. So, I guess I have two questions...First, do you need the filter? Second, if you do, why? Thanks.

It IS a filter.. and yes you should have it on... Your MAP sensor will live longer.

Yea, i knew it wasnt a check valve. Otherwise on the diagram they wouldnt have called it a fuel filter...Well, since it is a fuel filter, i should just put in any old generic filter? Or is there a specific type needed?

It's there to filter the oil mist in the intake tract, and a small paper element fuel filter may work, but I'd call Ray Crow and see what a new stock one would cost first.
