Which map sensor?

Looking to run 18psi on my bnrs as such I need to upgrade my map sensor. I think the stocker only reads to 16psi.

Any pros or cons of the Apexi or banzai racing gm map sensor setup.

I think they both come with harnesses and plug right in.

Also what do you all think in terms of the most boost I can run. Car has a street port full exhaust with meth. 18 seems like a good number.

I did this just the other day.
I went with the US made GM 3bar MAP sensor from bellinger motorsports.

IMO the apexi is way overpriced. and "plug and play" is not required. You only need to connect/solder 3 wires.
The banzai setup would be good if your not keen on soldering.

If you can solder (its cheap, easy and never too late to learn!) then get the US made unit and a "pigtail" (i.e the plug with wires already connected), and just chop off your old plug and solder the new one on.

when you chop off the old sensor, there are 3 wires.
connect the Black/grey wire to the "A" wire on the plug/pigtail/snros
connect the Green/yellow wire to the "B" wire on the plug/pigtail/sensor
and connect the Brown/white wire to the "c" wire on the plug/pigtail/sensor

The plug and the sensor will both have A, B and C on them so you cant go wrong.

and here's a crappy design for the bracket to hold it. (ignore the bamboo scribble etc on there LOL)

I don't mind spending the extra dough on something that snaps in. I just saw ur post. I guess apexi it is.

Do I need to deal with another tune? Car is currently tuned to 15psi

^Um, guessing when it comes to tuning isn't very smart.

Matt, I recommend you contact your engine builder and tuner to ask him what he thinks is best.

To be safe you'll need a tweak to the tune and verify that all is good, but not a complete retune.

I would run it through the paces while recording your pulls, to make sure everything is good. It more than likely will not be too far off, if at all. You just never know until you see the recorded screens.
