MAP filter options
MAP filter options
stock MAP sensor, i don't have an inline filter. By chance does autozone/napa or the like carry an inline filter that will perform properly? I am going to attempt to finish it up this weekend and fire it up and this is the only part I need.
Here's my suggestion:
Order the filter from Ray. Start your car without the filter until the stock one arrives. You won't immediately mess up your map sensor from running the car without it. Many people ditched it and ran without one in the past, but I don't recommend doing that. Running without it for a short time should be fine.
I wouldn't necessarily just get another filter. The flow rate will be different and can effect your sensor reading.

I was just reading up on it some more, and someone mentioned that the MAP filter isn't in the parts fische and the dealerships have a hard time finding the correct filter, so i'm definitely calling Malloy on monday so i don't have to wonder if i got the correct filter or not. i need a new thermostat anyway, so i'll just hold off on starting it until i get that and the filter.
