Manual Rack installation
Manual Rack installation
I have finished installing a manual rack into my FD. One thing remains. The manual rack's tie rod and tie rod ends match up perfectly with the FD's power rack (length, etc.) I was able to get it mounted securely, and also mated up to the steer shaft easily. Look great, and very clean.
One thing remains.... The tie rod ends themselves, the actual shaft that goes through the steering knuckle, is slightly too small. Tightening down the castle nut will tighten down the rod end to where is only has a little range of movement. It would *probably* work ok, but I am worried about them binding.
Looking for someone that has installed a manual rack in their FD. What tie rods and rod ends did you use if you didn't use the T2 manual rack's. If you did, did you use the same tie rods I am using? Have they been ok?
Car is nearly ready to go! Help!

This tie rod end solved my issues:

Was hoping someone has dealt with this.
