man wtf is going on with my fd!

crap man. alright i had posted a boost issue yesterday right. i got it fixed last night. before i even began to work on the car, i was at a buddies house down the street. i parked the car and went inside to chill for a lil bit. when i came out and started it up, freaking add coolant light comes on and starts the buzzer. so i just drive it home, hence only 1/2 mile down the road. car didnt even get hot. so i get back to my house and pop the hood. i add coolant and then look underneath the car and my rad. is leaking! wtf? i guess stock rx7 radiators are prone to taking a crap? its only leaking on the left bottom corner of the radiator. but the thing is, it leaks only a lil bit of coolant out. i had topped of the coolant last night and went to sleep after doing a few things to the car. i came out this morning and popped the hood to add coolant to see how much leaked out, only took about 8 oz's of coolant and was filled. what is going on? do i have a leak in my rad? or do i have a leak some where else? didnt really have time this morning to work on it. just wondering if anyone else had the same problem and what it could be other then the rad.? any help would be great!!!!

stock FD radiators are absolute crap. Get a Koyo or Fluidyne if yours is cracked.

I have a fluidyne and love it. Fitment was perfect. Never had problem with it. And when you look throught the front of my car you can see were it says Fluidyne. That is untill I go front mount.

"wtf is going on?"

Your radiator has a leak. What's so hard to figure out? Replace the radiator. Plenty of threads on this. Fluidyne fits better than Koyo, works great, costs a little more.

It won't "cool" your engine down too much -- you have a thermostat for that.

Regardless, even though some say the Fluidyne fits fine, they don't always. It varies from car to car, it seems. I have a PWR unit (Fluidyne clone) which I had to modify the upper brackets for it to seat correctly. Koyo's fitment is hindered by it's thickness. If you plan on getting an aftermarket SMIC or something, this issue will be elevated.

When it comes down to it, the stock radiator (minus the endtanks) is sufficient for a stock/near-stock setup. If you're on a budget, get one of the cheap(er) radiators as mentioned above. If not, then you can splurge on a Fluidyne or something.
