I did mine last week based on that guide. One word of advice. When I did mine, I did two coats of paint then let them dry all night/day until I got home from work. The contact paper left the sticky adhesive on the lights when I peeled them off instead of the paper. I had to use rubbing alcohol to get that goop off the lights and make them shine again. If you want to avoid this, I suggest not letting them sit for too long after the paint is dry enough to peel off the circles. Go slow, took me about 3 hours total, but they look great.

I sprayed mine with the paint, let it sit for 30-40 minutes until it was no longer tacky to the touch and then peeled off the contact paper, came right off and didn't pull up any paint just went slowly to make sure.
