Question Maintenance opinions on different stock paint colors

Ok all you guys need some opinions, cause i have only ever owned black and white cars so i know both ends of the spectrum.

What im curious is yalls opinions on what colors are the hardest and easiest to detail and maintain the look. Because im in the market for a new daily FD and need help deciding color and this is one aspect im looking at in detail. No pun intended

Right now i have a BB fd as my daily and being **** retentive black is a nightmare for me as a daily, i would love it as a garage queen or show car, but not as a daily

So lets say on a scale of 1-10, black is a 10 on difficulty, what would you guys rate the rest of the stock paint colors? and any comments and advice is always appreciated!

The lighter the color the easier it ease to maintain typically. i.e. silver and white are a piece of cake. They just don't show swirls and imperfections the way other colors do. Its not that they don't have them.. it just isn't easily visible.

Black of course is the worst and then blues and reds will fall somewhere in the middle. Good rule of thumb is the darker the color the harder it is to make look nice once it gets wear on it.

Wrong section...

IMO
Blackare the worst in terms of taking flaws
MB is the hardest to keep pristine looking. If it's not perfectly clean, the paint looks ugly. I think CYM, White may fall in this category.
Red is a bit more tolerant.
Silver is the easiest in terms of even if dirty, the paint can look sorta clean.

SSM hides them great. That's the color I have, but as for the MB I couldn't say.

I think we can all agree, the easiest color to care for is SSM.

I find mb doesn't show swirls too bad, it does look really shitty if it's not maintained well. I think mb in poor condition looks worse than any of the other colors in similar condition.

+1 on wrong section...

Being a MB owner with a simi-decent paint job, I can attest. I believe much of it has to do with the way the car changes colors. It has that green/blue color in direct sunlight. As such, it is a lighter color that doesn't quite show as many of its markings. It appears darker as the ambient light is removed. But there is no ambient light to show the flaws as it gets darker.

Personally, I would buy the color you want and maintain it. If you are worried about swirls and flaws then it's time to learn about proper paint care. Buffing is an amazing proccess that will keep even some of the worst paints looking great.

More then enough info....

I would have to agree. My car is unbelivably filthy right now and you wouldn't know it unless you knew how shiny the car looked clean.

All my cars are white for this very reason

The silver would be the easiest with the grey coming in second.

I know what im doing
I have done detailing as a side job

but i cant polish it everytime i clean it and im extremely ocd about my car like if its not perfect it bugs me, and i mean perfect before wax, haha

but im thinking silver or white, i like the idea of the MB just need more opinions on how well the swirls show up, i would have minimal just the ones you cant avoid, so very few, but still curious to other MB owners how well they are hidden

But thanks for everyones input so far

and i picked this section because it pertained to the FD colors, sorry for it being technically the wrong section

Probably one of the easier ones to maintain, shows little dust and looks neat in the sun. But it might be the most difficult to touch-up or for repairs. In my experience metallics are tougher for the inevitable touch-up. The metallic wants to pool or sink. Difficult for panel repair...even with blending.
