M2's Metal intake pipes?

Does anyone know if using M2 metal intake pipes will increase HP?

The Factory use the Accordian style... that I would guess is constricting on the air-flow.

Anybody what to make a estimate on the HP?
Probally 1 or 2.

thanks for the replies. jc.

I don't think you're looking at much increase in hp. The reason people switch is not just for looks, but the rubber accordian deals can become deformed under high boost restricting all air.

They may flow more air, but they also don't insulate the intake air from heat as well as the stock hoses. Like everyone said, probably no or only nominal gain at best. Still, they DO look cool.

The stock primary hose does neck down to about 1.6 inches, and has been known to close up at high flow and hot conditions.

The hose mod I came up with is under $25 to do both, uses metal wire reinforced industial hose that will not collapse, full 2-3/8" bore, looks good, is light, and has good insulating behavior.

check at intake upgrade section of steve cirian's site.
