lsd fluid how much?

Just did a search and all I found was talk about lsd's and fluid but noone mentioned how much fluid the diffy takes. I purchased a rex but its not here yet. I want to have the oil and fluid changed immediately when it arrives but just need to know how many quarts to buy. Thanks!

I think it's 2.6 in the tranny and 1.4 in the diff, might be 2.8/1.2

It comes out to exactly 4 quarts but buy 5 for spills.

If you don't have this bookmarked, DO IT NOW!

drain it from the bottom plug and when empty, tighten the bolt back up. Then un-bolt the top bolt and fill until the fluid starts coming out. I think 2 quarts is what I used with a little bit left over. It's no more than 3...

Garfinkle told me to allways take out the fill bolt first to vent the unit and what happens if the fill bolt is jammed and will not come out .

unjam it. Yeah, thinking about it now, it's probably best to take out the fil bolt first. If you can't unbolt it, at least you have fluid.

what would make it not come out? use a 6 pt socket and a BIG *** BREAKER BAR...that always works for me

If you don't take out the fill plug first, it will slosh and splatter coming out, only one way for air to go in, which is the same way the fluid is coming out.

Yep...edit to my first post:

undo the fill bolt FIRST.
