Can you blame a V8 FD for committing suicide?

Why would you need remote start on an FD? Unless he drives that car everyday in the winter, otherwise I don't see the point.

Well if it was a rotary, I would never put a remote start on it. I guess the remote start would work a lot better with the V8 so I see how it's tempting if you put in an alarm that has the feature. But to leave it parked in gear... I mean honestly I installed one on my manual transmission Golf and it didn't have the safety, but I tested it and it would NOT start with the parking brake on even slightly if it was in gear. There was a few times where I let a friend or something drive it and they would leave it parked in gear, but I would disable the remote start every time I let a shop drive it or if I let a friend DD from the bar. It comes with the disable switch for a reason. It's not hard to put in a neutral safety either.

I can understand the convenience of having Remote Start for warm up, but the whole "left in gear" thing scares me too much.
