Low power and wooshing sound

Hi all.
My name is Adam and I am the proud owner of a 92 fd. Love it.

Problem is, it makes a loud whooshing sound at higher boost and rpm. Also at 4500 rpm up to about 6500 it seams to lack but then after that it boosts hard and goes very well indeed. Could this just be a blocked cat? Please help

Check the rubber coupling between the top of the Y-pipe and the plastic crosspipe at the top of the engine. The clamps holding it might be loose, or the coupling itself might have deteriorated and be leaking.

Check the CRV. It's the "blow off valve" on the back part of the Y pipe. It connects to the big nipple on this pipe:

---edit---

This is the CRV. I believe it's normally open until 4500rpm allowing the rear turbo to vent any pressure until the flapper in the Y pipe opens. When you hit the 4500rpm transition, the CRV closes as the 2nd turbo "kicks in" and remains closed until you left off the throttle. If it's stuck open, it would likely cause the problem you are describing.
