Question low idle and voltage ?

i have an auto fd, (5 speed on the way, still waiting on a few parts) and it has a low idle. it idles at 400 to 500rpm. i had a compression check done, and the guy said its a little low, which is why it idles low. but when i turn my lights on, even just the parking lights, the idle bumps up. anyone know why that is? i have a voltage meter on my turbo timer, and i dont see any change when the lights are on and off. also i was told that if i get a 5speed, there shouldnt be an idle problem.

2nd queston: if i adjust my idle, what effects will this have on the car.

the ecu is programming to raise the idle slightly under electrical load. the voltage should read about 14.5 volts whenever the car is running.

that makes since, but if i bump the idle up, do i need to adjust anything else to compensate for the change, and will it harm anything?

no you shouldnt need to adjust anything nor will it cause any harm. factory spec is 720-750rpm idle with no electrical load for the manual. not sure if auto is different.
