I don't mean to sound critical, but the car is not going to blow up if you adjust one way vs. the other slightly to see which is which. Nevertheless, there are two possible idle adjustment screws. You did not identify which you are playing with. The air bleed screw at the bottom of the throttle body (below the elbow, facing the butterflys), I believe is left to close (reduce) and right to open (elevate idle). The idle control screw at the front of the throttle body (the screw in a vertical position with a locking nut at the base) is right to raise the idle and left to reduce. Good luck and happy motoring.

its out to reduce idle I believe. In otherwords, the screw has to go upwards.

If you're idling at 2k, there may be something else causing it. Did you check the voltages on the tps?

Here are a couple of things that might help you; a photo of the idle adjustment screw and a summery of those things that affect the RX7's idle RPM.

You need to disable the ISC (idle speed control) solenoid. in the dignosic connector by grounding the "TEN" pin & then adjust the air bleed screw. You can also just unplug the ISC plug to do the same thing.

This also might tell you if the ISC is stuck or getting a erronious input. 2k rpm idle is way high. I would check the wax rod & see if it's working properly. Check out the FSM for a discription & better understanding of how it works.
