Low Idle?
Greetings,
I'm experiencing a slightly rough idle. I live in Chicago where it can get pretty cold so I go through the accelerated warm up every morning. Interestingly, after it warms up, the tach rests at 800 until I put it in gear. Once it's in gear, I've seen the tach drop as low as ~400. I am hesitant to describe the idle as rough, because I think it seems more like a slight "hiccup". Once its been driven for awhile, however, it's no longer noticable.
My rex's specs:
1995 BASE, 24K mi., stock except for a boost gauge
Car was brought up to Chicago from Fl. in Nov01' where the previous owner had it for a few years.
My questions to the forum:
Is an idle as low as 400 normal for a car with my specs?
If not, what is factory spec and potentially, what problems can the low idle indicate?
What are the solutions?
What would you do?
