lots of problems with rebuild need help

mother of god. i pulled my engine because of blown water seals. i used the atkins rebuild kit. here are my problems:

1. i think there is a vacuum leak somewhere. the engine runs really rough and i think rich but if you get close to boost it bucks and a/f guage says it runs lean. backfires a lot too. also stalls occasionall when you slow down. how do i find a vacumm leak?

2. my water temp guage in the car does not work. i know one plug broke but up towards the fuel rail but could not find a place to put it.

3. car makes weird sound when the clutch is pressed. is this normal clutch break in? or is something wrong? it is kind of a screaching sound.

and does anyone know of a REPUTIBLE rotary mechanic in the souther california area? i took the car to 3 mazda dealerships and they told me they wouldnt work on them. i took it to a shop who "worked on rotaries all the time" and i knew more than they did. i did the rebuild but am close to the point of haveing someone else work on it for a while. i need a break.

i swear if i cant figure these things out it is going to get a satchel charge in the engine bay. please help. i appreciate any response i get.

Check the map sensor, see if the hose pop off, other than that you could have a injector problem. Also check to see if there is a ground off.

Hi Matt,
Try Rotary Power and ask to talk to Jeff Mcaul.

a vacuum leak would give you a lean mixture not a rich mixture.
