Is a lot of stiffness bad?

I'm having the following parts planned to be put on. I was wondering if having the car too stiff is a bad thing.

Unobtainium 18pc. nylon bushing kit
(4 front upper control arm bushings
4 front lower control arm bushings
4 rear upper control arm bushings
2 rear upper control arm shock mount bushings
2 rear trailing arm bushings
2 differential mount bushings)
Cusco Titanium front strut bar
Rotary Extreme toe links
Rotary Extreme trailing arms
Wide Foot sway bar mounts
Racing Beat sway bar mounts (can be used in addition to)
Cusco front sway bar
Cusco rear sway bar
FEED side tower brace
FEED cross bar
AutoEXE member bar (underbody braces)
JIC FLT-A2 coilovers
Garfinkle engine torque brace
Mazdaspeed powerplant frame
Rotorsports Racing engine mounts (w/ hockey pucks)

Thanks,
Victor

Oh yeah, the 2 trailing arm bushings wouldn't be used.

and I forgot to list the A-Spec tranny brace.

hmm cant find that post. bascially increasing stiffness is fine until you the driver ger bounced around too much, the conclusion was you kinda go into a sensory overload if you get bounced around too much.

or

the stiffer you make the body the more you should also soften the suspension

what is it that you are aiming for?
stiff is good for drifting... setting it for soft is for drag.

actualy soft can be quick, but it's the roll of the car, that's the hole point. (well alittelt bitt wrong, a soft car will always be slower on weight distrubution.)

On a flat track u can have a pretty stiff car, if there's alot of traction. But it gets to a point where a rock hard car will loose grip.

But the car should not tweak/roll(not sure what it's called in english) to much, like lift the inner front wheel in a turn and so on, not lift the rear end when u break.

The car should be balanced. And the faster u can move weight from one side of the car to the other the better.

And teh geometry of the wheels and so on will also help.

But u only need a stiff car on the track, on the road u can just make it softer.

Hello-

If you plan to race on REAL road racing tracks, then stiff is usually good... to a point. If you plan to hit the hills on the weekends and go into the twisties, then this limit of stiffness is much sooner... see, regular roads have lots of irregularities, and ultra-stiff suspensions don't like irregularities in the road :-).

A friend of mine in an Audi A8 once beat a tuned/modified Porsche 996 Carrera 4 on some twisties because the roads were really rough... the Porsche kept bouncing around on the turns!

Take care,
Shad

Make sure you get those coil-overs properly set-up (corner-balanced, proper pre-load, etc). Also, despite of what some have said about the JICs being comfortable for a daily driver, they run some seriously stiff springs. I guess you will have to let us know!

BTW, a stiffer suspension is also less forgiving -- ie, easier to spin....

Just remember, all harsh road conditions that the suspention does not absorb is transfered to the car. Stress can kill a, non-full frame, car.
