Angry Lost my Car key! Does anyone know of a cheap way of making a new one!!

Hey guys I just lost my only car key for my car and the local locksmith guys want 80-90 dollars to make me a new one. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever went through this and if so if there is like a key code bank that you know of that would have my key on file so I could just take the key code to the locksmith. My friend told me of an online code bank that might have the key code for my VIN just wondering if anyone has ever went through this before. Any help would be appreciated.

Ther is usually a code # on the inside of the passenger door lock (very back of where you put the key in).

Try your local Mazda dealer and give them your VIN.

BTW, did you only have just that ONE key? Now you know why it's prudent to always have a copy handy.

I lost mine. Got it from Japan. Just gave the Mazda dealer my chassy number. It was $20 for both the keys.

The chassis number. And its easier if you can give the number on the keys. Like on my keys it says 11971. I live in Bangladesh. I got it through my supplier ( Mazda dealer) in Japan. It took a week.

To be EXACT the price of each key is 1570 JPY.

Mazda only keeps the car codes in their computers for ten years until they start blowing them out. So I had my local Mazda dealer parts guy give me the code that I have for safe keeping. So if I need any keys made in the future I can get them cut at the dealer and it will be perfect for sure. I had a key cut off when they took an existing one to go off of and it didnt work all that well.
