Losing Tach reading

Every so often the tach just stops working. Sits at 0, hen I know the car is at 1500 or more while driving, cuts in and out any ideas? On possibly the same note, the speedometer does something similar, instead of cutting out it reads high. I will be driving 1500 RPM in 4th (~50km/h) and it will read 60-80. I am hoping there is just a loose or dirty connection somewhere. Any advice? Thanks Picture of where to check is even better.
