looking for a good downpipe and intercooler
hello, ive owned the fd for a while now but feel the need for more power. I was wondering if anyone can help me on what kind of downpipe i should get as far as quality and reliability (looking for a good reasonable priced one). The car has a stock intercooler and i was looking at a bolt on v-mount intercooler because the car has a carbon fiber vented hood and it looks like it will grab a lot of air. Please let me know your suggestions, thank you.

with fd's you cant just start adding parts to gain more power. you cant allow your boost to rise over stock lvs without being tuned for that boost lv.
you can always get away with a mod or 2 though(depending on what it is) before you need to start manually regulating your boost.
if i were you...i would look into a downpipe. they are a good support/reliability mod and arnt all that expensive. i would look into one from rx7store. they have a good rep for quality parts

downpipes are pretty much very similar. look for mandrel bend, ss (if you want), and at least 3 in. minor design and fitments different between brands. rx7store.net would be a safe bet.
don't do intercooler unless you are ready.. unless you want to get a rebuild sometime soon.
