Looking for feedback on BBA-Reman
I'm thinking about sending my instrument cluster to BBA-Reman for repairs (sporadic tach and dead odometer) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and would share a little feedback. Thanks.
I bought a reman'ed SID (instrument display) for my Saab from them. Worked fine for a few months but started losing some pixels when the car sat in the sun and got hot. I let them know and they sent me another one that was perfect. Good customer service, products seem to work. Price is reasonable. I would not have a hesitation to deal with them again.

Thanks for the input. After days of troubleshooting and replacing capacitors, I've decided to send it off. Once I get it reinstalled, I'll post my thoughts on the experience.

I wanted to post a follow up for my original thread.
Originally, I had the odometer problem with the numbers no longer showing. I searched the forum and found the post on replacing capacitors. I replaced the capacitors (some twice) with no change. I ran across a thread mentioning BBA reman for instrument cluster repairs. According to their site, http://www.bba-reman.com/catalogue/D...edProduct=1023
Under the "Features" section:
Mazda RX-7 Instrument Cluster Rebuild.
Display problems, typically the odometer display failure.
BBA can rebuild your cluster.
BBA can rebuild virtually all new type instrument clusters. Please contact us if you do not see your model listed.
I was quoted $150 repair cost with a 5-6 day turnaround. I sent my cluster off and on the 5th day call about the status. I was told "they are still working on it." I called again two days later and was told "they are still working on it, but may have it finished later today." I didn't have an opportunity to call again that evening. The next morning another call to check the status and I was told "we don't get many of these and don't know what's wrong with it."
The end result is that I sent my cluster off for two weeks with no change and I had to pay for shipping both ways. I still don't have a working odometer and am frustrated beyond belief.

That sucks man. The usual quick fix is just getting a used cluster. Used 93-95 clusters usually go for 100-200$ in the for sale section. I want to say someone on here used to fix old clusters. Can't for my life remember who though
Just wanted to let everyone know, use speed-o-tach, i use them pesonally and for all my customers stuff. So far there 100% able to fix everything ive thrown at em.
