looking at this FD to buy. questions

Hi
A local guy is selling a 96 white FD, body kit, 17" wheels, exhaust and done 90,000kms. The engine has 90 compression on each rotor but it has a missfire under high accelleration. He's selling it for around 8K.

1. is the a good price ?

2. what could cause a miss under heavy load.( yes have searched and suprisingly F- all info ) .

Cheers

misfiring? Do you mean it pops from the exhaust alot under heavy acceleration? If so this is pretty normal, mine does that. The JDM models will do this with more ease as they dont have a pre-cat.

Well you are in New Zealand and i would believe its probably a JDM import, so yeah if its in good condition i would say good price. Here in Japan, i really cant find anything under 10,000 that isnt rat ****. I would be a bit concerned about the misfiring though.

sounds like a decent price. i'd ask the guy why he's selling it and also if you could look at all the past service records of the car. so you get a better idea of wats going on.

i am surprised you are asking this kind of question? considering all the mods you have done so far and the numerous posts...

well in any case if for some reason you are new to buying rx7's here are a few pointers. drive it, if you havnt already. make sure everything feels alright. make sure it wasnt tracked. ask about fluids and how often he changed them. ask if he took time to let the car cool down and warm up before driving. when you take it for a spin, feel for bad syncros(2nd,3rd,5th). check for unusual exhaust fumes(odd discoloration) o...and reliability mods, are they done.

i did this when i bought mine, and i am very satisified. took me a year to find the right one, but it was well worth it. hope you have good results with the fd

8 k and it runs.....as long as there are n cooling issues and seems to run well it would be your choice.

It will need a rebuid soon but for 8k it doesnt seem like a bad deal. I dont know what the market is there so I cant give you a good answer. However, 90 psi is getting pretty low.
