Looking for a 3rd Gen RX7....Have some ??'s

I currently own a 2001 Mazda Protege with about 30,000 miles on it... I would love to pick up a 3rd gen RX7 this winter coming up.. My only concern is that it will be my only car and I most likely wouldnt be able to afford numerous repairs on the supposable "unreliable" rotary all the time... Do you guys find the car reliable.... How much did you purchase yours for and would you reccomend it as a daily driver??? I will definately be modding the car and looking to spend a max of 20k.... Thanks

If your willing to spend 20k on the car youll have no problem keeping it running. You will stumble upon problems along the way. More than a non rotary car. If your willing to get under the hood you should be fine

This forum will help you through any problem you have. Their are many experts on this forum that can help troubleshoot and keep the car running perfect.

I would say that this car isnt a good daily driver. Espically if you gonna mod it. It needs alot of TLC and can leave you carless for a good length of time.

Thanks for the info,, I searched and found some good stuff... Kinda sucks that the car is a not a good daily driver... I would really love to have the car... Two more questions.. Would a stand alone cure many reliability issues besides the grounding and the vacuum lines and all that other crap??? I'm about 6'3" so will I fight in this car lol? Tilt steering wheel?

Do some more searching please. There are probably 3 topics just like this on the front page alone. As for fitting, your best bet is to just find one and try. Everyone is different.

Mine has no tilt steering but I am short. You gotta try to sit in one. Its not small but extremely tight if that makes and sense. I have heard of people having trouble sitting in them.

As for the standalone it will help when you mod, but for the vacuum lines that something completely different.

All the red hoses have to be replaced by hand the stand alone cant help you here. I am at this point now and it sucks.

Check that site all the red hoses are the vacuum lines..
