The Revolution intake manifold design is ok, not that great actually. I visited revolution when i was in japan, and koseki from scoot was explaining to me why it was not good, and the tests he ran. I have horrible memory, and i am somewhat an idiot when it comes to remembering mechanics. So i forgot why.
Ive always wondered if you can have a peripheral port and standard port, but on the manifold have butterfly valves to restrict the flow to the PP on low rpm ranges. It makes sense in my mind...
would it idle better?
would it transition to full open?

I've seen this before somewhere. Pretty neat way to get more air in the engine.
Good thing is the manifold has the pports on the secondary runners, so they won't be doing anything at idle/cruise.
Who's gonna guinea pig it?

with the ports being open wouldnt they suck air in and create a vacuum at idle from those secondary runners? Could that mess up a/f or something? just curious... If it was boosted would it increase the inside volume to take longer to fill up before it fills up the combustion chamber?

I bet it has something to do with the semi PP's sharing the same secondary runners with the stockish entry diameter? Personally I would never design a semi PP LIM that way. To better take advantage of the extra flow capabilities of the PP's, the LIM should have been designed with either their own separete runners, or a much larger diameter secondary runner to aid in the added air volume that runner will need to supply air to BOTH ports. You would also need to higher flowing/capacity UIM to match.
