What are you trying to figure out?
If memory serves the odometer won't light with the engine out of the car, one of the ECU grounds is tied into that circuit somehow. If the car is all together but your odometer isn't working you probably have a failing instrument cluster. There are options for repairing them.

Yup - (one of the ECU grounds is tied into that circuit somehow)
Mileage cuts in / out. Wanted to check the ground by the coils before removing the cluster. Probably looking to purchase used cluster rather than repair, we'll see.

Michael Gagne on Facebook does cluster repair - he just did mine and a friend's cluster. Does amazing work and he has a full test bench that he can test EVERYTHING on the cluster and calibrate it too. Hands down that's the way to go. He also turned my cluster around the same day.

There's a ground that bolts to the top of the rear rotor housing and one that goes around the rear stud of the lower to upper intake manifold. That's the only ground wires on the ECU harness on the engine.
