Little help. . .

So here's where I am in my little project here. Radiator is out, AC condenser is out, power steering pump is off, AC compressor is off. I'm about to start running new vacuum lines and putting stuff back together. Everything is just about plug and play with a new Koyo radiator, intercooler, polished PS pump mount, Greddy elbow and Greddy BOV. I have one question. The stock elbow has a line going into the back of it near the winshield. Is this the line that goes into my new BOV? Plus. . . where is the stock BOV that I will need to remove. Thanks in advance.

No, that's not the same line. I think that tube is for the Idle Air Control Valve, IIRC.

The stock BOV is the one leading from the center of the y-pipe to the airbox.

The line coming from the stock elbow goes to the AWS, atleast that's what I thought. You can cap it off, but eventually you should remove the AWS along with all the other junk under the manifold

I'm going to have the manifold off soon, to do the new vacuum lines. . . I'll tinker more when I'm in there. What should be removed so I don't have to cap this line??

Okay, so I think I have it. . . in this diagram there are two lines that go into the stock BOV. I assume these lines go in to a "Y" connecter and join into the new BOV that is on my new elbow.

There is a hose that connects to the bov from the Y pipe (Under the intake on top) clear hose) . Then there is a vacumm line that connects to the bov that connect to the middle of the UIM (Red line).

Yeah, mebbe that's it. But it's still not the BOV

So these are the two hoses (the clear and the red) that I put into a "y" connector and onto the aftermarket BOV, right?

There's no 'y' connector. We're talking about the y-pipe off the turbos that turns into your intercooler piping. There are two hoses: 1. The one inch hose the comes off the y-pipe that feeds into the main supply for the BOV, and 2. The small 1/4 inch vaccum line that extends from the BOV nipple to the nipple on the UIM.

Those are the only hoses you need to be concerned with as far as the BOV goes.

I understand the two hoses we're talking about. . . but the Greddy BOV has only one area to connect a vacuum line. . . and there's two lines we're talking about. The Greddy will connect to the flange on the elbow. .. is that taking the place of the clear line. So when the Greddy is instaled I cap this nipple from the Y-pipe. Then the red hose from the UIM connects to the nipple on the Greddy BOV?

Yes, the flange attached to the elbow takes the place of the clear line. Cap off the line y-pipe to the stock BOV.

So here's a good question. . . The line that is going into the stock elbow. . . that I'm not quite sure what it does, but basically is included into the vacuum system. Rather than cap the nipple from the y-pipe, can this line be plugged into the y-pipe rather than cap both? Seeing as how it is originally connected to the intercooler piping at the elboe, and the clear hose coming from the y-pipe is on the same part of the system. . . seems like it would work fine.

Don't do that. Just plug the AWS hose (off elbow) and cap stock BOV output. Don't make it anymore complicated than it needs to be.

Will I lose any function of the AWS by just capping it?

If you're runing a PFC, you don't have function of it regardless. The AWS is a stupid mechanism anyway. It's what causes your car's idle to jump to 3000 at startup to heat up the precat. You don't need it.

Yea.. just a quick blip of the throttle will disable it. Or people start the car in 1st gear and that does it too...until you get rid of it all together.

Thanks for everybody's help, by the way. Hopefully one day I'll be one of the guys answering questions, rather than asking. This project will sure help a lot in understanding this puppy.
