A little bit of confusion...

Ok guys, thanks to an awesome member here I got a carfax ran on the car I'm considering at LA Motorcars, this is one of the last things it says...

01/29/2001 91,450 Service Plan Co.
Service Contract Claim
Electrical sys. serviced
Cooling sys. serviced
Engine serviced
Fuel sys. serviced

Does anyone know what this means? Would this be getting a new engine perhaps? Everything else is a completely clean record, just trying to figure out this cars history.

If you have any concerns about the car, Lance at LA Motorcars has always been completely honest and upfront with me. Just ask him and he will tell you. He can also do a car fax for free for you. I purchased a car from him. I had wanted a different one at first, but he was very up front and told me what was wrong with it and why I should not buy it. I also got a warranty from him so that if anything was not working properly, I could get if fixed. The last repairs done look like maintenace to me, not a new engine.

Yeah, I asked him if it was the original engine or not and he said that he did not know, but he said that he has driven it and it builds up boost and power just as it should. But the fact remains is that he is asking 16.5k for a car that has barely over 100k miles now, so even with the 3 year/36k mile warranty he's going to give with it, which I double checked and he said that it will get me a remanufactured engine or turbo's straight from Mazda, as well as everything else being covered. But that's a lot of miles on a car either way, but it's the exact combo I want...black/tan with both front and rear spoilers. Good deal or should I hold off for a better one?

Thumbs up

I'd say if the engine and turbos are completely covered (rebuilds or replacement) for 3 years or 36,000 miles, go for it.
