Yes, those Shoria batteries as shown above are the largest motorcycle LiFePo they offer.

I have one in my FD. Only one year of actual use and several sitting around, but it still works great.

I've used the Shorai as well in hey engine bay. Wrapped it with gold heat shield and has held up well for 1.5 years so far. Cranks just like it's the factory battery in there.

Do you guys think this one will be ok? Its a good brand, i have one in my bike. Just worried the rx7 charging system will reduce its lifespan.

Do you reckon you can post up a link for the big Shorai for comparison?

Ok cheers. Looks like the equivalent to the one I'm looking at. What are your thoughts on the compatibility with your car's charging system? Apparently they are designed for less current than that? Or is that something they say just to get out of warranty obligations or make us spend 2-4 times as much on a much bigger one?

I don't know.

I did run mine all the way down by leaving the fans on and then jumped the car and raced it. I am sure the alternator was dumping current into charging the battery then, but luckily it didn't explode.

I think its a 5lb battery so I'm going to see how long I can get away with running it!
