Light Weight Flywheel combined w/ Street Port
Light Weight Flywheel combined w/ Street Port
During the summer my 3rd Gen is a daily driver. 2-3 Times a week I go street drag racing with my friends. One of the biggest advantages in racing has been my launches where I jump out a car length immediately. I have just gotten my motor street ported and I am considering getting a light weight flywheel. I realize that the street port adds 50 HP but reduces torque. I am thinking that with the loss of torque from the SP and a light weight flywheel ( that is known for hurting 60 ft times) that winning races might become more difficult due to slower launches. I love to cruise the strip but at the end of the night when the races begin I love to kick some @#&! So what should i do? 9.5 lb? 15-17lb? Stock? Aluminum? Steel? I love to win races and I love to just cruise. The only other mods that I have done are ACT street/strip clutch, cat-back exhaust and Heavier than stock 18" rims which I just remembered would also be a factor in my launches. The Tires are wider than stock at 265 and they are Bridgestone SO-2's which are great for traction. Please Help!

i have a street port w/ 9.5# sr motorsports flywheel and it is bad ***.it climbs to redline real quick and when i say real qiuck i mean with a blink of an eye in 1st you can over rev it if you are not careful. sounds like you have some nice rubber on your wheels should not have a problem!!
