left brake light not coming on.

Yeah...just noticed lastnight. My left brake light isnt working. But the tail lights light up when you turn on the lights but no brake lights. Where do I look for the control modual thingy?

Replace the bulb. Each bulb has two filaments, one for the parking lights and one for the brake lights. The brake filament is burnt out.

Why does everyone always assume it's some complicated thing without checking first?

That's actually a pretty common failure mode for brake light bulbs. I see cars all the time with half a parking light, half a brake light, etc.
