after the porting and cleaning i sent the plates out to be lapped and renitrated

all 3 plates after alittle porting

had to custom make a box to fit these things, all together it was 83lbs, shipping was not cheap as you could imagine

...a week and a half later i got them back and oh were they nice

front plate lapped and re-nitrated

close up of the port

runner

center plate runners

cleaned up ready to go back together

had to get the product placement shot in there

cant wait til there is a rotor in there

i think im going to have everything powder coated this week, not sure on a color yet. and believe me as much as i love small blocks i wouldnt put one in an rx7, its just not right. the LS projects are all well and good but these cars were made to run a rotary and thats what should stay in them. that small block is going in a 68 chevelle, although i have been thinking about popping a 13b into a muscle car. but then people would think im trying to copy fast and the furious 3 with the rb26 in the rustang

ok so a guy in my fire department has the ultimate hookup with the local powder coating guy, its his brother in law. so what in particular has to be masked off so i can avoid banging my head against the wall later. obviously the mating surfaces of the rotor housings and irons, but what about the intake, can i just cover the runners and let them powdercoat all along the side?

eh its going rather slow for now. thanks to the wonderful economy the FD got put on hold for a few months while i build up the bank account i drained buying it. but i am working on my '68 camaro at the moment getting some new sheetmetal on it and working with stuff i already have instead of buying new stuff for the FD. it will make a come back probably in late january/early february. thanks for asking. where in NY are you?

ya it is back when it was red I like that pick mostly for the tires. Its been pro streeted dana 60 with a full 8 point cage so it is my strait line car the rx will be for the turns. I add a few pics of our toys if you could could you post som of your 68. I do like the fact that their is another old hot rodder trying to convert to the rx.

I can send you a couple pictures if you would like (list your email). I'm not completely finished yet. I try not to post stuff anymore as everyone wants results and more information that I really don't have . My current setup is pretty much done. I've been having a lot of problems with Garrett, suppliers, and slow shippers. The car didn't hit the road this year so I'm not too happy. Although, I've been right on target with my "completion date" which was "just in time for winter . I've got too many cars myself and too many other customers cars to work on. I'm sure you know the deal...
