the last FD

I have long had a suspicion that I may have bought the last new FD available in the US. I bought it in october 1996 and it was still sitting at a mazda dealership in long island. It is a 1995 red base model, manual transmission.
Unless someone knows otherwise, I hereby lay claim to that title. I tried calling mazda once but the lady i talked to said they dont keep those kinds of sales stats.

Just remember, that everyone who has an FD, does not post on this site. But congrats on one of the last models in the states.

thats cool. I have a strong suspicion that I bought the 16,245th FD available for sale in the US, but I'm the 3rd owner, so I share that title with 2 other owners

I think US FDs hade unique vin #s. So if you's is the last, it should have the number 400 at the end.

You're probably in the top 10 I'd say.

i've actually heard stories of new FD's popping up at mazda dealers as late as the middle of 2002. By new I obviously mean never registered and under 1000 miles.

Those were just unsubstantiated rumors, though. So as far as I'm concerned the title is still yours.

Theres a possibility you were on the top 10, there were only like 500 1995's orso sold in the US.

But, the very very last FD was run off the line in August of (2002????) and sold for like I believe 96,000 or around that number.

My '95's vehicle ID is JM1FD3333S0400398. That's not #400 but it sure is close. Car was first titled 3/1/96. Curlybillbrosie, what is your ID #? Tom
