My fd has this steady knocking sound coming from motor or tranny. It increases with rpm. Car runs good and doesnt smoke except on first start up it puffs a little blue smoke, but only for a second. Im going to do a compression test when it cools down a little. The car has done it ever since I bought it, but has recently got louder. Any ideas?

 

Does the sound go away with the clutch pushed in? IF so, check to make sure your shifter is all tightened down. I had this weird knocking sound that would go away with the clutch pushed in. Finally i stumbled on to seeing all 4 bolts on my B&M short shifter were loose. Tightened them and the sound pretty much went away

 

my shifter is rattling pretty loud too. I also have the b&m, so I'll check it out
