Knock Sensor questions

My knock sensor died, so I ordered a new OEM one, but the new sensor appears to have different threads than the one that was on the car. I'd appreciate some advice from those that have more familiarity with these.

The original sensor (on the left) was mounted with the extender shown, and both the extender and the sensor have a thread that is finer pitch than the new OEM one - I'm guessing it is M10x1.0 but don't know that for sure since I don't have any M10x1.0 nuts or bolts to compare against. I'm also surprised at how different the two sensors are, making me think maybe the original isn't actually an OEM. Note the original one also doesn't have the cable pigtail that the new one has.

The new sensor appears to be genuine OEM, based on other photos I can find on the internet (I bought it from an ebay vendor in Japan). It's thread is definitely M10x1.25. Unfortunately, it doesn't thread into the rotor housing because of the difference in threading.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Are there adapters out there for this issue? I suppose I could just tap the housing to M10x1.25 and locktite the thing in place...

Thanks in advance for any help.

The sensor on the left is not the knock sensor. It is your oil pressure sensor. The new sensor on the right is indeed the knock sensor.
