Knock Sensor Error code?

Seems like if we do anything under the hood from changing plugs to checking the oil, we get a Check Engine Code for the Knock Sensor.

Also noticed that it seemed to come on with bumps?

If the connection is on again off again does it send an error code?

Thinking maybe it's grounding somewhere with the bumps.

Thanks for any insight

Did you change your plugs just before this started? The knock sensor is immediately above the trailing plug on the front housing, you could have damaged the wire.

Yes, it started after we changed the plugs.
Then went away, but came back after we had been checking the oil.
Can't see any wire damage, but we'll look closer.
Thanks

Does the sensor still have all of it's epoxy intact?

just replace it, they're not that difficult to come by.

only other issue is if someone yanked the electrical connector off and repaired it half assed and the shielding is contacting the signal wire, or the wire is being pinched somewhere on the top of the engine before it enters the main harness.

i'm pretty sure the signal has to be grounding out somewhere for the code to be popping up, going off of memory from when some random mazda dealership crimp connected the shielding wire to the signal wire on one particular car during an engine swap.
