keys???

this might be a stupid question but i just thought about this.. do all FD's have two keys.. i have a black key that i use to get in my car and a big silver for the ignition... i know this is a dumb question

sounds to me like either the door or ignotion lock has been replaced... and someone was too lazy and/or cheap to have it rekeyed to match the others...

your primary key SHOULD open everything and start the car. Your Secoundary key SHOULD open the doors and start the car. If they don't do this, then one of your locks has been changed.

yeah cuss one key is to open everything.. the hatchback, the box in the back, the doors.. and the other is for the ignition.. STUPID LAST OWNER!!!!!

you can go to mazda dealership and get another key made. sounds like you had some locks changed or something.

Sounds like the ignition key is changed if one of the keys open everything except ignition.

Valet key

You are supposed to have two keys. One is a valet key which will only works for the ignition. Same principal as a valet switch on your alarm. It won't really stop a vallet from opening the trunk with the hatch lever or folding down the devider but you can leave a purse or camera or whatever in the locked bin behind the passenger seat.
