Keyless entry

Im looking at getting an alarm put in very soon and i need to know what i have to do to make it ok for keyless entry. I heard i need the Jspec door locks because our cables on the FD will snap if an acuator is put on them to pop the locks. I know not every FD in the USA has the jspec locks, so what do u guys use?

I heard you need the J-spec pass side (which is teh US drivers side) because our drivers side wasnt setup for an electronic opening.

I have an Alpine also that comes with it. The shop needed to put an actuator in the passenger to to make it work

Use a reputable install shop, that has experience with FD's, or it can get ugly. The shop will have to install an actuator/motor since the locking mechanism isn't electric, but it is great to have once it is installed properly.

I got my passenger side (JDM) electric door actuator from Jesse Lau (laujesse on the forum) awhiles back. He had a hard time finding one though, but might want to give him a try.

I need to put it in one of these days, hehe.

My keyless entry works just fine with stock handles. You just need to add an actuator.

The idea is that, over time, the aftermarket actuator will put stress on the linkage and it may break. Probably will not happen if installed by a good installer.

The factory acutator is part of the door latch mechanism itself.

I had one of those actuator on my Python alarm. After 2years.. $180 for a new lock mechnism cause cable snapped. But that is after my exterior door handle broke (~$300).

If the cable snaps can you still get in on the pass side... it would suck to get locked out of your car cuz of that.
