KD questions - ?

Hi,

I tried to do a search on this but couldn't find much other than Dave is remodeling the shop and that's why the website is down. I called today at 3:00 and just got the answering machine... anyone know what their holiday schedule is like? Also, what is the expected waiting time at KD for my car to be serviced (possible tranny swap)? Does KD have the room for me to just drop my car off if it will not be serviced for a month? I am considering buying a car close to KD (that would need to be towed) and just want to take it there right away - I don't have a problem with waiting however long it takes as long as they don't have a problem storing the car. Any input?

Thanks for the read,
Todd

Your in West Berlin? Buying from CarNu? I got my FD there, nice guys, a little pricey though. Dave's site is down for a redesign, a post over in the NE section said it should be up by Christmas. I think the wait is over a month, but they have plenty of room to store the cars. Keep trying them on the phone, they should be in.

I could walk to CarNu. However, they have a bad rep around here - there is a guy named Lance in my neighborhood who owns a black Base who told me to stay away. Every once in awhile they have a nice FD, but I don't even consider buying from them. Thanks for the info though, I'll check the NE section.

I talked w/ Dave today. He is going away all next week and will be there after Jan.1 As for droping your car off w/ out an appointment, I wouldn't do it. Dave will get pissed as he has no more room plus he has had a couple of cars broken into on his lot. "Moral of the story" ----Make and appointment.....

Oh yah - I wasn't planning on just taking it there, especially knowing the waiting list. I'm one to have everything planned out beforehand so I know exactly what's going on. I definately wouldn't want to **** him off. Thanks for the help, I'll (hopefully) be giving him a call in the New Year. Thanks, Todd

I had my FD up at KD for almost 4 months (partly because I wanted to pay with as much cash as possible) - it was an engine rebuild and porting job - i also had a ton of mods for him to install. He was very cool about my car being up there that long but he keeps getting busier and he's running out of room up there. I had to wait until Feb. 5th to get an appt for dyno tuning so he's busy - it will definitely be atleast a month - but it is well worth it with his work and knowledge of the FD.
