KAIXEN HID mounted in Knightsport headlights

With the recent group buy with Autodoodad, many have requested some pix of the Kaixen HID system.

Comments on the kit.....
Very nicely built with all the components built into the ballast box, as some are seperate. Easy to read instructions, with all necessary hard wear (twoway tape, zip ties etc). Install took approx a hour and half with out aiming or such.

Keep in mind that the Knightsport kit is a "fog light" housing and does not have proper cut off in it for HID. The H3 HID bulb that the KS kit uses also does not have a cut off on it. The H4 HID bulb that the stock housing requires DOES come with a built in cut off with the Kaixen kit so you wont get the glare associated.

I am in the process of putting my own cutoff into the kit so please no "theres glare blah blah" I know and this is being fixed. I just wanted to get the pix up because people wanted to see them.

These are before and after pix. The before are PIAA Plasma Blue H3 bulbs. Also the car is up on stands so i could not get a good distance back to light up the wall so ther is only a 3 FT distance there!

cheers
shawn

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for making sure people know that you're using H3 foglight housings. I was worried that some people might think Kaixen HID cause massive glare!

Love the stingray and the Vette!

Let me know how you're planning on getting that shield on. I'd be interested to know for future reference.

The Jewel Blue one is a 1961, 283ci - 230hp
The other is a bit more rare as its a 1966 327ci - 350 hp (more hp then ci) with optional side exhaust (not mounted). Both cars are numbers matching......

Not a prob Sam. Just so everyone knows Sam was an excellent seller and great to do buisness with. If anyone is interested in this kit in the future (when the group buys are done) I may be able to help you out on it as Autodoodad and i will be working on the retail of these.

Thanx Ramy, yes I am VERY happy with the HID as the KS kit sucks for illumination, even with the PIAA bulbs that I previously had in there.

The only pic of the KS kit I have at the moment is this one during the day....

PS what did you get? better not be something I need !!!!!!

The HID's look great. But it appears the Vette is stealing some of the thunder. Either way, I'm looking forward to recieving the kit in a few days.

Thanx for the compliments guys!
Ya the garage is geared towards American thunder, but thats ok, even all my dads old timer friends love the sleek sexy lines of the 7. Hell just last week one of them thought my 7 was a Vette HAHAHA.

Love those Knightsports, look grea on your black FD. First time I have really seen them on anyone's car (outside of the white Knightsport pic) IMHO best looking replacement out there. How was the install when originally purchased?

Actually, my car is recognized by more people as a vette (C4 and C5) than it is a mazda.

Kudos!! I have the same thoughts, not into sleek lights and wanted to keep the pop ups. These were the only kit that sparked my interest.

I have had them for a few years now so i cant remember how the instal was to much, but its pretty much a bolt on. it comes with its own cage that replaces the OEM one. Just some tweeking and patience but it was no to bad.

IMHO, the best bang for the stock pop-ups are the E-code/euro assemblies with a pair of Narva 130/110 H4's and a relay wiring harness for no voltage drop.

Inserting HID bulbs into a reflector designed for H4's is just plain wrong.
