Posting this in 3rd gen section, as the 3rd gen guys are most likely the ones to buy a larger turbo.

Beware of cheap products made in China.
I'm not saying all products are bad.

But when they are products like a cheap a$$ turbo...

A turbo for $150. Wow!
This doesn't even qualify as a K-Mart blue light special. Or even a Walmart worthy product. This is something that is sold out of the trunk of someone's car.

Want a way to destroy your motor? This is the way to do it.

 

one problem a lot of ppl are experiencing with these turbos is that the compressor housing cracks straight down the middle at the joins.

There are knock off smaller turbos all over ebay. One of the really popular ones is the K04 to make knock offs of. Generally you can tell by the stamping of the compressor side and the serial numbers. I don't know about the Garrets, but I know the Borg Warner turbos can be looked up on their website to see if they are real (factory turbos anyway).
