Just Received My Pfc Today!!!!
First off this is beautiful. I am not going to get a chance to install it until monday.
Is their anything I should know before I put this baby in?
I have the link to cut the factory harness wires, but should I do this, I dont want to mess anything up.
http://westpenn.rx-7.org/ApexiPFCpinout.htm
Any other tips would help out alot. I have 3 days to make sure I 110% understand what to do.
Any personal experiance??
Jerry

Yyou must cut those wires unless you purchased a pre-cut PFC from RC. I think it was RC who sells these?!? anyone want to correct me?
What mods do you have, the base mod map will do you well for quite a few mods. Just basic a/f tuning required to be on the safe side, but the base mod map is plenty rich. a/f tuning would yeild some additional HP.

I just got a PFC as well. I didn't cut my wires until I figure out what they went to also.
Without the wires being cut...my car runs good! IF someone did cut the wires what difference did you notice? I'm curious too...

the cut wires go to emission the car will run good when you cut the wire. these things you cut are things you would take out to simplify the system . Garfinkle cuts the wire and installes disconnects on the ends and tapes them up. That way the customer can go back to the stock ECU with no codes= no problem . Be sure to cut the right wires as you can look at the connector from the wrong side, to do it correctly is eazy ,, good skill

Definitely remove the pins instead of cutting the wires. Or you can go with the mysterious "garfinkle" method.
BTW, duboisr, you have been asked several times who exactly garfinkle is. I've never seen a response.

My suggestion would be to pull the pins. For me, removing the top connector was the hard part (not alot of space). After that, removing the pins was easy. I didn't swear once!
good luck

From the back side of the circuit board I used a tool which cleans away the soldered bead. . (can't remeber the name of it now??) but most computer repair stores have them. You could ask them to do it.
Then I used the smallest wire cutters I could find and long nose pliers. If I remember correctly. 3 of the pins are a direct clips but, one is alittle more difficult. I had to cut that from inside while being careful not to bend any of the pins next to it. Remember to keep your finger off the circuit board.
Hope that helps?

My mods now are just dp, cb and clutch flywheel. I am going to get an intake soon.
I am still curious what that is that we are cutting. I know what wires and pins, but why? What were those wires originally ment to controll?
