Improved FD,

He never said he was purchasing the radiator under the theory the thickness would increase efficiency. He purchased it to increase the volume of coolant in the cooling system.

YZF,

Obviously, there is an optimal core size for a given surface area. However, what is that core size? It's not .5" or else we'd all have skinny radiators. So, how to get better cooling with the same space without increasing the core size? Dual cores. When you get into dual core radiators, that thickness over the overall radiator basically doubles. If you choose a 1" core, then you are looking at about about 2" for a thickness of your radiator.

At this point every millimeter can count as you start to balance proper core sizes to proper fitment (and proper core sizes to better flow inside the radiator). One company may make it easier to install, but not as efficient; while another goes for better cooler with installation modifications.

I'm not saying the RadiatorWorld Race radiator is better than any others, but I am saying there is more to radiator design than just saying "larger radiators do nothing".

Do you have any pics of your install? I have the same radiator installed and I'm planning to lower it soon to better fit my IC. I had alot of problems installing it, but otherwise its been great.

Sorry, I haven't done the install yet. I've been waiting to first make sure my rebuild is actually going to work, and then start with the custom stuff (like the radiator and the oil cooler).

The oil cooler is first on the list though. I'll be doing the brackets for that and the t-stat first. Then I'll move to the radiator.
